It wasn't easy dragging Molly's body down the stairs. I made a hell of a mess getting her from her former bedroom to the backdoor. The rain will probably wash away the blood stains on the garden path, which is a bonus. It's been raining an awful lot lately.
I buried her next to the goldfish pond at the bottom of the garden. I call it a goldfish pond, even though it hasn't got any goldfish in it. My mother had called it a "wildlife pool". I guess it was supposed to attract frogs and dragonflies and stuff. It hasn't.
Anyway, I ventured out of the house for the first time in months today, to buy some cleaning products from the local shop. It was surprising to see how much my hometown has changed since I quit my job at the delicatessen. Pedro's Spanish guitar shop, for example, has gone out of business. What will I do now if one of the strings on my axe snaps? I guess I'll have to catch the train to the city.
Anyway, one important thing remains the same. David is still working in the convenience store. I've had a crush on David since…well…since I can't remember when. He's not like the other boys. He shows no interest in football or chasing girls or any of that other stuff. He's slightly odd, a bit like an old eccentric in his mannerisms. Mannerism is a funny word. I'll add that to my list as well.
I tried to spark up a conversation with David but he was too busy. Maybe I'll think of a reason to go to the shop tomorrow and try to talk to him again. I guess I'll have to do the shopping now anyway. Not unless
Molly rises from the grave and decides to buy milk and bread, which seems awful unlikely.
It took me most of the afternoon, but I managed to get her blood out of the carpet on the stairs. I think I'll leave it 'til tomorrow before I attempt to tidy the mess in the guest bedroom.
I wrote a song about the accident. I'll play it for you if you ever come to visit. You will come to visit, won't you? I hope you will.
Anyway, all this scrubbing has made me tired. I think I'll go to bed early tonight. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
