Cat is starting to act a bit strange. I mean, he was strange before but now he's just being so idiosyncratic. This morning I found him curled up in a ball in the bathroom sink. When I tried to wash my hands, he took a swipe at me and I got blood all over the hallway. How is annoying is that? I spent all of yesterday scrubbing blood off of the carpet only to spray more over it.
Anyway, it gave me a perfect excuse to go to the shop as I was out of plasters. I found David loitering in the biscuit aisle, pretending to work. We had a brief but very amusing discussion about hobnobs, I'd tell you about it but it's really one of those things where you had to be there.
All and all today was a good day. That was, until about an hour ago. Cat started scratching at the carpet in front of my mother's old bedroom door, making horrible screeching noises. Anyway, I guess that must of woken the creature in there, 'cause it started growling and hurling things around the room.
If the neighbours ask, I'll tell them I was rearranging furniture.
As always, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Emily,
When I suggested that you should start keeping a journal, I didn't mean for you to send it to me every night. That being said, I am quite interested in reading about what is happening to you and if it helps you to write down your thoughts, sending it to me instead of writing it down in a diary, then I'm all for it.
I've decided to upload the messages to a blog. Don't worry I've changed the names of everyone, including yourself. I'm sure that nobody will think that your story is real. Even I didn't believe you when you first told me what was happening, remember?
I won't be able to visit you until after the new year, I'm fully booked with work.
Other than that, all is quiet at my end. For now, at least.
Your friend always,
Mark
