Em, I just got back to the US and I've just seen the video.
I think we have to assume that the Nightmare People have made good on their threat and that Mark is dead. I think it's also safe to assume, from the last line of the video and from the fact that it wasn't where I thought it was, that they've got the talisman.
The only option we have left is for you to go through with the birth. Hopefully, we'll be able to kill the baby before the Nightmare People are drawn to its location.
Em, I really am sorry about Mark - about all of this. I should have trusted his judgement and gone with him to South Carolina. Had I been there, I might have been able to stop them from taking him.
I've been put on the no-fly list (don't ask), so I'm going to have to take a greyhound bus from here in Washington DC down to El Paso. I'm not sure if they'll let me cross the boarder into Mexico, I might have to get creative. In any event, the bus journey down to Texas will take 2 days, so I'll be unreachable from now until I arrive.
