Ground, Monday 09.01.12

Yesterday morning, I woke up to find the following package had been delivered to my house.

The address on the front was not mine and at first I thought about taking it to the post office. But then I remembered that the postman doesn't deliver on Sundays.

Inside the package, I found a USB stick and a letter. The letter read as follows:

Dear [my real name],

I really didn't want to get you involved in this but I have no one left to turn to.
I don't know who to trust anymore.
I took this USB from the bag of the man I believe to be ArhturMan.
I haven't had a chance to look at the files on it and I'm running out of time.
I need you to read all of the messages at treehousefour.blogspot.com and then to look at the files on this memory stick.
I need you to post any important information that you find in the files here - so that, together, you and I can figure out what is going on.
I know that this is a strange request and I know that the things you will read will seem absurd.
I need you to keep an open mind but I also need you to doubt everything.
I have changed the password of the blog to [password].
Now only you and I know it.
I have added a second file, besides this one, to the USB entitled x3b.
x3b contains a list of words.
I want you to title each of your posts to the blog with the words, in order, followed by the date.
To be clear, your first post should be titled "Ground, Monday 12.11.11", or whatever the date may be.
If you do this, I'll be able to be sure that you are the one posting the messages.
If I get the chance to reply to you, my post will always contain the next word on the list.
To be safe, you should write the list on a peice of paper, keep that piece of paper in a safe place and then delete x3b from the USB.
Do not reveal your name or location in any of the posts.
Please do this for me, [my name].
You're the only person left in the world that I trust.

- [Emily's Real Name]

Last night, I read most of this blog. It's pretty unbelievable stuff.

This morning, I started going through the files on the USB. Most of the files are videos and quite a lot of those videos are nothing but a black screen and a faint humming noise.

I'll upload anything I find that seems worth sharing.

What strikes me as odd  is the example date that Emily used in her letter. She suggested that my first post might be on the 11th of November last year - and yet I didn't even receive the package until the 8th of January.

I've got to say, this is the strangest favour anyone has ever made ask me for.

However, I will try my best to help you, Emily.

I owe you that much.
